About This Opportunity

Rainbow City Performing Arts invites qualified conductors and choreographers from Pride Bands Alliance member organizations to apply for Guest Artistic Director positions at the 2027 conference. Guest ADs play a vital role in shaping the artistic experience for hundreds of musicians, leading rehearsals, collaborating with our home artistic directors, and performing on world-class stages including Benaroya Hall.

Selection is based on musical qualifications, rehearsal technique, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging.

Available Positions

Concert Band

Guest Conductor

4–6 positions available. Lead rehearsals and perform at Benaroya Hall.

Symphony Orchestra

Guest Conductor

1–2 positions available. Lead string and full orchestral rehearsals.

Marching & Pep Band

Guest Drum Major

2 positions available. Lead outdoor performances at Seattle Center.

Color Guard

Guest Choreographer

1–2 positions. Choreograph and lead the non-audition color guard track.

What To Prepare

All Positions A current resume or CV highlighting relevant conducting, directing, or choreography experience.
Conductors Up to 8 minutes of video demonstrating your rehearsal technique and performance. Video may be a single clip or multiple clips totaling 8 minutes.
Drum Majors Up to 8 minutes of video demonstrating field conducting technique and performance presence.
Choreographers A resume plus a choreography submission — choreograph any 30-45 seconds of of Abracadabra and record yourself teaching it.

Timeline

Aug 4, 2026 Full application criteria published. Application form goes live.
Nov 30 2026 Application deadline — approximately 6 months before the conference.
Feb 2027 Guest Artistic Directors announced publicly.
Late May 2027 Music and repertoire distributed to all Guest ADs.
July 27–31, 2027 Conference week — rehearsals and performances.
