About This Ensemble

The Symphony Orchestra ensures string players have a prominent, equitable place at the Pride Bands Alliance Conference. String players may join without audition. Wind players will audition for their parts, all wind parts will be performed with two players per part to be as inclusive as possible. The orchestra program features a string-only first half followed by a full symphonic second half, including works by historically marginalized composers and LGBTQIA+ themes.

Music & Programming

The orchestra will perform 2–3 compositions for string orchestra and 2–3 compositions for full symphony orchestra. Programming centers on composers who have been historically underrepresented on the concert stage. Music packets distributed in late May to early June 2027.

Music packets will be sent to all participants in late May to early June 2027, approximately 45 days before the conference.

Audition Information

At Registration Express interest in Symphony Orchestra. String players are accepted automatically. Wind players will receive audition rubric and materials later in 2026.

August 2026 Audition materials distributed to all interested wind players.

TBD Acceptance notifications sent to wind players. String players are confirmed upon registration.
